Happy 4th of July!


On July 4, 1776, after voting for independence on July 2nd, delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence.


The most famous and well known sentence reads:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”


July 4th, has been a federal holiday since 1870 and in 1941, it became a paid federal holiday for federal employees.


It falls on a Tuesday this year, some of us will have a four day weekend to celebrate at the parades, concerts and fireworks displays being held. Many  Americans will celebrate the holiday at picnics or barbecues with family and friends. If you’re hitting the road you won’t be alone. According to AAA over 44 million people will travel  50 miles or more from home this holiday weekend.
