A job interview can be a stressful experience for many and the way that you present yourself can be the critical piece in whether you’re extended an offer or not.
Some points to remember…
Be prepared! Research everything that you can about the company, such as press releases, articles, and website content. Make sure you take the time to review the job description thoroughly. Highlight your skills that are relevant to the job. Make a list of questions that you would like to ask and be prepared to answer all of their questions to the best of your knowledge.
First impression! It goes a long way when it comes to a job interview. A firm handshake is always recommended. Arriving late, wearing wrinkled clothes, or being obnoxious will certainly give you less than stellar marks from the interviewer.
Finally, if possible, avoid talking salary during the initial interview. If you do well, most likely you will be called back for a second interview, where a salary discussion is most appropriate.
Good luck and remember to keep good eye contact!
